Fenugreek has been traditionally used by breastfeeding mothers to promote lactation and increase breastmilk supply.  It is one of the more commonly used galactagogues (milk stimulants) for nursing mothers experiencing low milk supply issues. Fenugreek is also used as a flavouring herb in cooking, and plays a major role in herbal healing. Each capsule contains: Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) seed powder 529mg. Contains no preservatives, yeast, added sugars, lactose, gluten, starch or artificial colours.

The effect of Fenugreek on milk production is generally noticable within 72 hours (although it may take longer for some). An unusual side effect of taking fenugreek is you may notice you smell very sweet – just like maple syrup. This is often an indicator that you’re taking the correct dose as your sweat and urine begin to smell like maple syrup. Most mothers have found that the herb can be discontinued once milk production is stimulated to an appropriate level. Adequate production is usually maintained as long as sufficient breast stimulation and emptying continues.
